On my song page I have two songs, Spirit of Life  and When Our Heart is in a Holy Place. In the next few days I will be adding songs that I have attempted to chord myself. Okay, so I am about to have a little time with the holiday break, so I hope to try and get a fair number of songs in to the blog. It's taking me a little while to put it all together. I still have services to get ready for on top of my full time job. So here goes......

Hello! My name is Michael Schafer and I am currently the President of the Hattiesburg Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (HUUF) in Hattiesburg, MS. I am also leading the music at this particular church. One of the struggles I've had since I started leading music has been that I play guitar. I am not a music major and my music theory has been limited. As such I've had to rely on what I've been able to find through outside sources to chord UU songs and hymns. Singing the Living Tradition does not have many songs with guitar chords. So to come to the point, I have started this blog in hopes of sharing what I have been able to find with others who may be dealing with the same problem and invite others to share what they may care to from their own experiences with UU music. I hope to start posting songs and chords soon. I will only be dealing with lyrics and chords as that is primarily what I, as a guitarist, am dealing with. If you have any suggestions please feel free to share. I would also welcome any resources that you may be aware of for a person such as myself that cannot easily be found in UUA resources.
