Hello! My name is Michael Schafer and I am currently the President of the Hattiesburg Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (HUUF) in Hattiesburg, MS. I am also leading the music at this particular church. One of the struggles I've had since I started leading music has been that I play guitar. I am not a music major and my music theory has been limited. As such I've had to rely on what I've been able to find through outside sources to chord UU songs and hymns. Singing the Living Tradition does not have many songs with guitar chords. So to come to the point, I have started this blog in hopes of sharing what I have been able to find with others who may be dealing with the same problem and invite others to share what they may care to from their own experiences with UU music. I hope to start posting songs and chords soon. I will only be dealing with lyrics and chords as that is primarily what I, as a guitarist, am dealing with. If you have any suggestions please feel free to share. I would also welcome any resources that you may be aware of for a person such as myself that cannot easily be found in UUA resources.

  1. Thanks for offering this. Looking forward to this when you do post. I'm in a similar boat, and it takes forever to work up chords for UU hymns for me, if I can at all.

    A few easy good ones: All the Colors (G, D7, Am, C), How Could Anyone? (E, F#m, C#m, A, B7) Amazing Grace (I, IV, V7)
